The Caribbean is a destination for tourists from all over the world. The reasons to visit this part of the world are the beautiful beaches, and Puerto Rico could not be different. Thinking about presenting the beaches in Puerto Rico, we made this list, with the following indications:

  • Main Beaches of Puerto Rico;
  • Isla Culebra;
  • Bioluminescent Bays;
  • Beaches in San Juan.

Isla Culebra

Isla Cuebra is a place in Puerto Rico that you can access by boat. And the trip to this island is totally recommended, as this place is home to one of the most beautiful beaches in the world: Playa Flamenco.

The beach has crystal clear waters in turquoise and shallow tones, white sand and areas suitable for swimming and diving.

Bioluminescent Bays

This is a rare phenomenon, found in only 5 places in the world: and one of them is in Puerto Rico, in its bioluminescence bays. This phenomenon can be witnessed in 3 bays in the country: La Parguera, in Lajas; Mosquito Bay on Vieques Island and Laguna Grande in Fajardo.

Another place to observe the phenomenon is Laguna Grande, although this place is not exactly a bay. This place is very popular because it is closer to the country’s capital, San Juan.

Beaches in San Juan

San Juan is the capital of the country and has excellent beaches, especially for those who just want to get a tan. Among the main beaches present in the capital of Puerto Rico, these deserve to be highlighted:

  • Condado Beach;
  • Isla Verde Beach;
  • Playa El Escambrón.

In addition to the beaches, Puerto Rico has other very interesting attractions that are worth visiting. They are El Yunque National Park, San Juan and Loíza.

El Yunque National Park

This national park is located in the northeast of Puerto Rico and is located near Farjado, 1 hour from the capital San Juan. The Park protects a large expanse of tropical rainforest. There are several trails, waterfalls and places suitable for bathing in fresh water.

San Juan is one of the most eccentric capitals in the Caribbean. There are several attractions that draw attention in the city, in addition to its beaches. One of them is street art, with graffiti that harmonize and contrast with the secular and historical buildings of the colonial period.

And by the way, walking around San Juan is an excellent program. The city was founded in 1520 and is considered a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Among the main places to visit, we highlight Fort San Cristóbal, Fort San Felipe del Morro and Palacio de Santa Catalina.

Loíza

Loíza is considered the cultural capital of Puerto Rico and is a destination for those who want to know more about the country’s traditions, such as the use of traditional masks.

Therefore, we present to you, throughout this article, the main beaches of Puerto Rico. However, it is worth remembering that the beaches are the main attractions, but not the only reason to visit. The country has a rich culture and history, as well as an effervescent capital: San Juan. And you, what are you waiting for to visit this lovely Caribbean country?
